I have read many harrowing stories about dogs who were dumped, but this recent cruel case of abandonment is something I have never encountered before and has made me feel brokenhearted.
Footage of a heartless woman dumping a dog in a neighborhood in Surprise, Arizona was shared on Facebook.
At the beginning of the video, we can see a red SUV driving along a dead-end street. As the driver makes a U-turn, a woman opens the back door and throws a black-and-white pup on the street.
Before speeding away, she can be heard saying “bye-bye” to the dog who was both hurt and stunned by her actions.
An Eye-Witness Was Shocked
Although the pup was horribly treated and betrayed, he started chasing after the car, hoping that the woman would take him back.
That afternoon, on March 8th of 2025, while walking her dog, Joanna Buesen witnessed the heartbreaking scene and was overwhelmed with emotions.
“I was angered. I was flabbergasted, shocked. Just so many emotions,” she told Arizona Family.
As soon as she saw the sorrowful dog trying to run after the person who dumped him, Buesen spoke to him, offering him some comforting words.
Upon hearing her gentle voice, the pup started running toward Buesen. He was glad to know that he was not all alone.
Buesen took the abandoned dog home and fed him. Later on, animal control collected the pup and took him under their care.
The dog’s rescuer condemned the owner’s conduct, focusing on the heartless “goodbye” captured in the recording.
“I think that they had no remorse for their actions, and I think that is the telltale that it is malicious intent. I understand things are hard and things can be tough in life, but you don’t have to be a soulless human. And that is just a soulless thing,” Buesen added.
Looking For A Second Chance At Love
The case was reported to the authorities who started an investigation.
Thanks to the fact that the license plate of the cruel person was visible in the video, the investigators got many leads that they started pursuing.
On March 11th, of 2025, FOX 10 Phoenix reported that the people who dumped the dog were identified.
A man and a woman who are the owners of the dog turned themselves in and are now facing charges tied to animal cruelty.
The pup was taken to an Arizona shelter where he will be put up for adoption.
Hopefully, the sweet boy will soon forget all the hardships he experienced. He deserves to find a wonderful family who will give him endless love.
