Arizona Couple Shocked When DNA Test Reveals The Breed Of Their Dog Rescued From Shelter

Arizona Couple Shocked When DNA Test Reveals The Breed Of Their Dog Rescued From Shelter

When Zira was just a puppy, she found herself in an overcrowded shelter along with her beloved mom and her siblings.

Through no fault of her own, the little puppy and her siblings were placed on the euthanasia list.

When a kind-hearted woman named Michaela Hyle found out about the terrible fate that awaited the doggy family, she dropped everything and rushed to the shelter.

Upon arriving at the shelter, Hyle found Zira and one of her brothers. They were the only ones left. Hyle felt heartbroken for them and took both puppies home.

On that day, Zira and her brother’s lives changed forever.

Hyle gave Zira the forever home that she desperately needed. Her brother was adopted into a great family, too.

Zira grew up into a wonderful dog who loves snuggling and playing. She couldn’t picture a better life for herself. She was spoiled with love and enjoyed spending time with her mom.

Nowadays, at eleven years old, Zira is still very active. She likes playing with her doggy brothers, Buckeye and Kasson.

While Zira seemed like a typical dog, her appearance was a bit odd. Hyle knew that Zira was a mixed breed but she didn’t know the exact mix of breeds she really was.

Hyle’s father teased her by saying that Zira was in fact a coyote. And, he was not the only one.

When Hyle’s husband met Zira for the first time, he joked that she looked like a coyote.

At the time when Hyle adopted Zira from the shelter, the staff said that the puppy was a Rottweiler and German Shepherd, but Hyle couldn’t believe it because Zira didn’t resemble those breeds at all.

Hyle always wanted to get a DNA test for Zira. Not only did she want to prove to her family that Zira wasn’t a coyote, but she was also curious about her true breed.

Since her husband knew about Hyle’s wish, he decided to surprise her with a DNA test for Zira as part of his Christmas gift.

When the results were finally in, the couple was very excited. They made a TikTok video, wishing to share the thrilling moment with their followers.

Before the big reveal, Hyle and her husband made their predictions about the mix of breeds Zira turned out to be.

Hyle’s spouse anticipated that the doggo would be a mix of Carolina Dog, Siberian Husky, and Coyote, while Hyle predicted her to be a mix of a Cattle Dog and Carolina dog.

The test results revealed something that neither one of them expected.

Their sweet doggo turned out to be 19% percent Rottweiler, 16% Australian Cattle Dog, 14% Pit Bull Terrier, 7% Siberian Husky, and 5% American Staffordshire Terrier.

Zira was also a blend of other breeds, including Border Collie, German Shepherd, Chow Chow, Golden Retriever, Alaskan Malamute, Chihuahua, Labrador Retriever, Dalmatian, English Springer Spaniel, Cocker Spaniel, and Airedale Terrier.

The Arizona couple was shocked by the results. They never expected that the highest percentage would be Rotweiller.

Both Hyle and her husband were convinced that Zira had traits of Carolina Dog in her, but the tests proved that she had none.

Although the test results were shocking, getting a DNA test for their dog was an enjoyable experience for the couple.

They finally know the true mix of breeds Zira belongs to and they proved that she is definitely not a coyote.
