Life’s just not easy on some dogs. From the moment they are born, they need to learn how to survive and adapt to the severity of streets and the wilderness. Shelterless, often traumatized, and most of the time, malnourished – these doggos fight for their lives on a daily basis.
Even though she had a home before she was found alongside her pup, Mina, the Bully mix mom had to face the hard reality. She was mercilessly dumped in the middle of nowhere with her two babies, a crate, and a blanket.
Hopeless to ever find a new shelter, Mina was lying on the cold cement, cradling her puppy as much as she could to warm it… But then, her life took the most amazing turn!
Mina Was Dumped On A Street With Her Two Pups
Jen and Roman McConn, of Project Freedom Ride, from Evans, Georgia, read about this poor mom on Facebook, and they just knew they had to help. When they arrived at the spot, things were so much worse than they had hoped they would be.
At the moment, Mina was trying to protect her puppy by cradling it, but her other baby had already passed away in a nearby crate. Deeply stressed out and sad, Mina was desperately holding onto the baby (later named Milo) on a small blanket.
Milo was full of worms and he was suffering from mange, which is why this poor little family needed help – immediately!
Their “Life Just Did A 180”
After the initial checkup at the vet – Jen was relieved. It turned out that Milo and Mina’s condition was not that bad and definitely not life-threatening.
“We are unbelievably lucky as neither have anything significant going on medically and both are happy as can be to be safe and loved,” says Jen.
Milo needed a mange treatment and lots of baths with proper medications along the way, but the worst part was definitely behind him. Or, in the words of Jen:
“Although we are so sorry for all you have experienced in life so far… it lead you to us! You now have names and we promise you that your life just did a 180:”
This adorable duo was sent to a foster home, and they just loved it! Their new momma, Heather, did everything in her power to make these doggos feel at home, but they didn’t need much convincing.
Mina has been a gentle soul from the moment she was found, and Milo was just such a confident and playful pup. Both enjoyed being cuddled very much, and even though Heather had two other dogs besides them – they adapted amazingly well!
An Amazing Transformation
After spending more than three months in their foster home, Mina and Milo became brand-new dogs! With their sweet temperament and eagerness to learn, the mom and the son built what we can call “the pawfect pets”!
“Mina is so gentle and affectionate. She loves a good cuddle. Mina is dog friendly, and house & crate trained. She did an amazing job at protecting Milo when they were dumped and now it is her time to shine,” says Jen.
They learned basic obedience manners and their social skills were just outstanding! Every time their rescuers from Evans, Georgia – Jen and Roman – visited them in their foster home, they were very thrilled to see their rescues building towards an amazing transformation.
Milo, on the other hand, grew brand-new fur and looked nothing like his old self anymore. He was a brand-new puppy in and out, ready to embark on new adventures!
“Ruff and tumble, classic pup who plays hard and cuddles hard. Such a great boy,” says Jen.
The Mom And The Son Found Their Pawfect Homes
The day had finally come!
After months of recovering in a foster home and learning that the world indeed has its positive sides, Milo and Mina finally found their forever homes! Milo was adopted to a beautiful Midwest family several months before his mom, and he couldn’t be happier!
Mina waited a little longer, but it was definitely worth it!
She was adopted into an amazing home where she’ll be able to display her true nature and charm. After all the hardship – she sure deserves it!
