Bennie and Jett, two almost identical-looking doggy brothers, were betrayed by humans who dumped them near a church.
When they were rescued and taken to an animal shelter in Houston, Texas, they were placed in the same shelter kennel.
The brothers sat together on the kennel floor, directing their sorrowful eyes toward the kennel door.
Since they had a roof over their head, Bennie and Jett thought that they were saved, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
“Save Us, Please”

Instead of being given a second chance at happiness, Bennie and Jett were put on a euthanasia list.
The scared pups reached their paws through the kennel bars, hoping that someone would save them and give them a home.
While Madeline, a big-hearted woman and a volunteer at the Houston shelter, was visiting the shelter dogs, Bennie and Jett caught her attention.
The pups were so malnourished that all their ribs were visible.
They had the same mannerisms and the same sad eyes that were pleading to be rescued.

“These two are peas in a pod. They did everything together,” Madeline wrote on Instagram.
Once the big-hearted volunteer learned that a sad fate awaited them, she felt devastated.
She recorded a video of them and posted it on Instagram, hoping that someone would rescue them on time.
Luckily, a foster dog mom named Summer happened to see the heartbreaking video of the two brothers who were begging for someone to give them a chance.
She contacted Sunnyside Street Dogs, a rescue that saves dogs from the streets of Houston. They agreed to rescue them and Summer offered to foster them.

Once Bennie and Jett left the shelter, their eyes filled with hope. They enjoyed their freedom ride, sensing that they were about to start a new life.
Once the puppies arrived at Sunnyside Street Dogs, the vet estimated them to be six to seven months old.
Enjoying Freedom
Summer took them home where the pups started relaxing.
Their foster mom took care of them and showered them with affection. Bennie and Jett absorbed her love and began enjoying the warmth and comfort of the home.
Before long, they began running around and having fun.
Summer loved watching their different personalities shine through.
“Bennie and Jett really balance each other out. Jett has a laid-back, cuddlebug personality, whereas Bennie has a vivacious, outgoing personality. I’m just very grateful that Sunnyside tagged them so they were able to be pulled from [the shelter],” Summer told The Dodo.
Thanks to their foster mom’s love, Bennie and Jett’s hearts mended.
Once the vet estimates that they are ready, the sweet pups will start looking for forever homes.
Their foster mom hopes that the dogs will find a wonderful family who will adopt them together and promise to love them forever. They deserve to find someone who will never fail them and betray them again.
