Natalie DePersia and her family, who live in New Jersey, have always wanted a dog, and a few years ago, they finally decided to get one. They had already arranged everything in advance, but something completely unexpected happened – they brought home the wrong dog.
Although already on their way home, they noticed that this dog looked different from the one in the picture. It was only when the vet confirmed it that they realized they had a completely different canine.
However, it soon turned out that fate actually wanted it that way because they all quickly fell in love with this Bernese Mountain Dog whom they named Cash.
At the same time, Cash was lucky enough to unexpectedly meet his happy moment and get a forever home that wasn’t meant for him in the first place.
Cash demonstrated a few years later that such a privilege is not thrown away so easily when he did something that made his mom laugh to tears.
He Didn’t Get Far
In the TikTok video that Natalie posted on her account, @natmdepersia, which attracted a lot of attention, this woman can be seen driving somewhere with her brother in the car and laughing loudly.
At first, it is not clear what she found so funny. However, everything became clear when the camera showed the open door of their house and then zoomed in on Cash, who “ran away from home.”
The last four words are not accidentally put in quotation marks because Cash, even if he had the intention of escaping, did not get far. Instead, he welcomed his owners lying relaxed in the garden and showed that home is the most wonderful place in the world after all.
This made his mom so cheerful that she started crying with laughter.
“I was absolutely wheezing with laughter because the whole thing caught us completely off guard. My laugh does not normally sound that… interesting!” Natalie said in her interview for Newsweek.
However, she also said that she was relieved that they found him there because if not, “[she] would have been frantic.”
Because he managed to cheer her up and in order to show him how much she appreciated his loyalty, Natalie decided to reward Cash with an ice cream.
This good boy totally deserved it.

Natalie couldn’t hide her delight because of so many amazing reactions on TikTok.
“I’m amazed that so many others found it as funny as I did, especially considering they don’t know Cash personally,” she said, adding at the end: “Every day with Cash is an adventure, and we’re grateful for the joy he brings to our lives, even if he wasn’t the dog we initially chose. He truly makes our family whole.”
