Abandoned Dogs Who Kept Shaking With Fear In The Corner Of A Shelter Now Have A Brand New Life

When rescuers came across two abandoned doggy sisters, Kali and Brandi, in the woods in North Carolina, they captured them and brought them to safety.

Once the dogs were admitted to a shelter, they were terrified. They sat in opposite corners of the shelter, staring at a wall with eyes filled with fear.

Sadly, Kali and Brandi were in an overcrowded shelter. In order to survive, they needed someone to pull them out and give them the second chance at life that they desperately needed.

The shelter posted a video of the sisters as they kept trembling with fear in a kennel. They hoped that someone would rescue them before it was too late.

Sisters Get Rescued

The video was posted in July of 2015 and it went viral, causing heartbreak for everyone who watched it.

Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, a rescue in New York, felt brokenhearted for the sisters and they took them in.

The rescuers brought Kali and Brandi to the vet for a medical checkup. They were diagnosed with heartworm disease and started receiving medication.

Since the doggos were overwhelmed with fear, the rescuers were convinced that they were abused and that they would need rehabilitation and a lot of love.

Although they were initially thought to be two years old, later on, it turned out that the sisters were six years old.

The rescue placed them with an experienced foster/trainer and assigned the dogs a team of professionals that would work with them every day.

Mending Broken Hearts

Upon moving into their foster home, the sisters hugged each other as they hid in corners of the house. Their strong bond was evident.

Their foster family treated them affectionately and took excellent care of them. They talked to the girls in a soft voice, trying to make them feel safe.

During the first week in their foster home, Kali and Brandi continued to shy away from their fosters. They were still unsure of them. Whenever their foster parents tried to pet them, they would become even more scared.

However, thanks to the persistence and love of their fosters and the team of professionals, the dogs slowly started to come out of their shells. They began feeling safe.

The sisters started spending time outdoors and learning to walk on a leash. They loved basking in the sun.

Thankfully, the treatment worked and Kali and Brandi were cured of heartworm disease.

Gradually, the dogs began showing their dispositions to their foster parents. They were affectionate and sweet. They gave many kisses to their fosters and enjoyed belly rubs.

Finding A Dream Home

Thanks to the love that their foster family poured into them, the dogs’ hearts healed.

The lovely girls started looking for a forever home in the summer of 2016. Since they were bonded, both the rescuers and their foster family insisted that they should be adopted together.

Although Kali and Brandi were adorable, they waited a long time to find their forever home.

Finally, in July of 2017, the day that they waited so long for finally arrived.

An amazing family had a meet and greet with Kali and Brandi, and they fell in love with them.

The sisters said goodbye to their loving foster parents and moved in with their forever family, starting the happiest chapter in their lives.

At first, Kali and Brandi were skittish with their new parents, but soon they realized how much their parents loved them and they felt secure.

The doggos live their best lives.

They shower their family with love and wag their tails whenever they see them.

From traumatized sisters who cowered in a shelter kennel, Kali and Brandi blossomed into happy and confident dogs.

Thank you to the dogs’ rescuers, fosters, and forever parents for helping them and giving them the love they needed.
