When Sadie arrived at the Providence Animal Center in Pennsylvania, she was a puppy who craved love and care.
She and her siblings were transferred from another shelter from out of state, and because of that, they had to spend two weeks in quarantine.
After the quarantine period ended, Sadie started looking for a place to call home and humans who would give her affection.
She couldn’t have known that her path to happiness would be so difficult.
The Puppy Experiences Heartbreak
Since puppies are in demand among potential adopters, it didn’t take long for Sadie to find a home.
The pup was excited to move in with her family. She was convinced that this was the happy ending she was waiting for.
Unfortunately, instead of the happiness the pup deserved, she endured heartbreak.
After catching a glimpse of what life outside the shelter looked like, Sadie was back at the shelter feeling confused and sad.
Her new family surrendered her because they didn’t have time for her.
The staff felt brokenhearted for her. They comforted her the best way they could, and Sadie recovered from her disappointment.
Sadie was adopted once again, and she had her heart broken the second time.
Her adoptive family returned her to the shelter, citing the same reason as Sadie’s previous family.
When she found herself behind the four walls of her kennel, the pup became nervous. As much as Sadie tried, she couldn’t understand why she kept getting returned.
She peered through the kennel bars with a heartbreaking look in her eyes. She needed love so that her heart could heal.
Sadie’s New Chance At Happiness
Fortunately, Sadie had her friends at the shelter who kept rooting for her and believing in her happy ending.
One of them was Giana Sabatino, a shelter staff member who often shares videos of shelter dogs on TikTok in order to increase their visibility.
Sabatino posted footage of Sadie as she waited in her kennel and told her harrowing story to her followers. She emphasized how different the pup was outside the confines of her kennel.
“In the kennels Sadie is such a nervous pup but once she comes out her kennel her personality really brightens up,” Sabatino wrote in the video.
The TikTok video seemed to make a real difference.
At the beginning of April 2025, the delightful pup left the Pennsylvania shelter and moved in with her new family.
I hope that this time, Sadie found the humans who will give her a ton of love and show her how wonderful life can be.
