When Mario’s family dropped him off at Animal Friends of the Valleys, a shelter in Wildomar, California, he refused to believe that they rejected him.
The sweet Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull mix thought that it was just a nightmare and that he would soon wake up next to his favorite humans.
You can imagine how heartbroken the pup felt when he realized that the lonely life in the shelter was his new reality.
All of a sudden, his whole world was turned upside down and he felt totally confused. He stared through the kennel bars, hoping to see his loving family again.
Mario couldn’t have known that his family moved to a new home and that they couldn’t bring him along because their new place had a Pit Bull ban.
A Lonely Shelter Life

The pup felt overwhelmed with the shelter noise that surrounded him.
Mario missed the carefree life he once had, but most of all, he missed snuggling with his humans and soaking up their love.
The shelter staff noticed his sadness and longing every time they visited him in his kennel. He always had a wistful expression on his face.
The shelter staff understood Mario’s feelings and wished to help him. They started taking him on walks, hoping to brighten his mood.

In the beginning, the dog was shy and confused, but thanks to the love of his shelter friends, he became more confident.
He was excited every time they took him outside. Only then he would forget about his sad reality.
Finding The Love He Deserved All Along

Before long, Mario showed his affectionate personality, capturing the hearts of the staff and volunteers.
The California shelter shared his story on social media along with the video of Mario waiting at the shelter. The staff hoped that the lovable pup would find a family who would give him all the love his heart longed for.
“He loves to play and just wants someone by his side,” the shelter wrote on Facebook.
People were moved with Mario’s story and hoped he would find his happiness.

Everyone believed that the doggo would get his happily ever after.
He had all the qualities that potential adopters looked for. He was crate-trained, and good with cats, dogs, and children. Undoubtedly, his best quality was his loving and playful disposition.

Fortunately, Mario caught the attention of a family who was looking to adopt a dog. They were delighted with him and decided to give him a forever home.
From now on, the pup will never have to wonder whether he is loved or not. His new family will give them all their affection and make him the happiest dog.
Mario, enjoy your new life with your forever family! I’m thrilled that you found your happy ending.
