One thing I didn’t know until recently was how much some dogs like routines. Well, all of them actually do, but it’s usually more to do with food and naptime rather than something else.
On occasion, I have seen pups with very strange routines that I can’t even explain. At one point, I think I saw a dog in my neighborhood who just enjoys running from one side of the road to the other whenever it’s empty.
I know, it’s strange, but something about this makes them happy, and it’s not up to us to figure out why they like doing it. They just do.
However, what this pup from Chicago did was even stranger. Her night routine is something that surprises even her owner, and that is something we will talk about.
It’s Just Hilarious
When Bruno and Beth first learned about their dog’s unusual behavior, they didn’t know how to react. Pancake has lived with her family for a long time, and she’s an amazing pup.
It’s always interesting with her because she’s so playful and relaxed. She’s like the perfect couch potato who also gets spontaneous bursts of energy every few hours.
This new routine that she developed confused her family, but they found it quite funny. Apparently, Pancake likes to go under her parents’ bed.
They don’t know why, but they think it’s her safe spot. She loves being around them at any given moment, and she’ll always take a quick nap under the bed.
She also started going under the bed after breakfast to take a nap. It wasn’t just a thing she liked doing at night.
However, Bruno usually lets her rest for a while, and then he takes her back to her spot. Pancake does not enjoy this, but she knows she can do nothing about it.
Why Doesn’t He Stay Under The Bed?
Shortly after witnessing this hilarious moment, the owner from Chicago recorded a video where he was moving Pancake away from his bed. This was not the first time, either.
The TikTok community sure had things to say about this, and many people shared their thoughts in the comments.
Somebody commented: “I want her to outfit that space like a proper fort with decorative accents and a ‘no boys allowed’ sign.”
I know that Pancake would definitely not object to this. It seems like that place is more than just her safe space. There is something special about it.
Another person said: “I feel like I see one of these vids of Pancake every week. That’s her favorite hiding spot lol.”
Well, when the owner realized that she liked doing this all the time, they thought it would be hilarious to show it off to people more than once. And, they were right. It’s funny every time.
Lastly, somebody commented: “My older dog plays this game too. I had to put a ton of stuff under the bed so he can’t get deep.”
Well, I guess that is one way of making sure your dog doesn’t go under the bed for too long, though I don’t feel like I would have the heart to forbid him from doing anything.
Nevertheless, this short clip illustrates perfectly how even dogs can sometimes have routines just like us, and it’s always funny when we see them act similarly to us.
