Let’s face it: dogs can be intentionally mischievous sometimes. I mean, we have all seen the look of guilt on their faces when they do something wrong.
Most of the time, I feel like they are showing that face so we would calm down and let them misbehave again. It’s a clever tactic that works on even the best of us.
I mean, how can you not consider giving them everything they want when they give you the puppy eyes? I certainly don’t know the answer to that question.
However, this family from South Carolina was shocked when their dog did something at PetSmart that was probably not the smartest idea.
What Did He Take?!
After Teddy’s owner went to PetSmart in South Carolina with his dog to buy something, he was surprised to learn that his dog did something shocking.
He took one of the toys. It was a dog-toy heist. His dad was surprised by this, so he realized that he now had to go back to the store and pay for the toy.
The whole time, Teddy was trying to play nice and was giving his dad the puppy eyes, hoping that he would let him keep the plush toy.
As fate would have it, he got to keep it. His dad kept wondering how he got the toy without him noticing. Then, he realized how it happened.
He suspected that the toy was on the bottom shelf and Teddy took it while he was talking with someone on the phone.
Realizing that he had to take the toy from the dog in order to pay for it, he tried snatching it from Teddy’s mouth, but the pup didn’t budge.
Knowing this, he just took the tag off and went inside. Teddy was certainly not playing games. He was suspecting his dad wouldn’t give him the toy, but it was the total opposite.

After witnessing this hilarious event, Teddy’s dad posted the short video on his Instagram and TikTok pages.
The video went viral in no time and many people rushed to the comments to share their thoughts. It’s safe to say that many comments were hilarious.

That look is the reason why we often do things for our dogs. They know how to make us buy them anything with just the puppy eyes trick.
Another person said: “One time when potter was a puppy, he just helped himself to the snack bar and the shop owners just laughed and said it’s okay for his first offense, lol.”
Well, it’s a good thing that there are rules for first offenses. I can imagine that it’s not the first time shop owners dealt with something like that.
Lastly, somebody commented: “It’s obviously a misunderstanding. You said that he could pick out any toy for being a good boy. You forgot & that has him worried about you.”
Yeah, I think this is probably how it went down. I think me and the whole internet can vouch for Teddy on this one. He was certain that his dad wanted him to pick a toy.
All jokes aside, this was a hilarious video and it serves as a reminder of how our dogs are always a bright spot in our lives and how we’d do anything for them, including buying them all the toys they want. Teddy is lucky to have such a wonderful family.
