No dog wants to spend their days behind kennel bars, hoping somebody notices them and gives them much-needed attention.
Unfortunately, many shelter pups have no other choice but to wait for someone to finally pick them out of the crowd and give them a chance for a better life.
Cutie was one of the shelter dogs who waited for someone who could warm her heart with cuddles and love.
The pup sat in her kennel with her eyes fixed on the people who passed by, hoping that someone would stop and give her the attention she needed.
The Irresistible Smile On Cutie’s Face

Liz Standley volunteers at Dallas Animal Services and often posts videos of shelter dogs on her social media, increasing their exposure and helping them get adopted.
One day, while Standley was visiting the shelter dogs and giving them treats, she noticed a sweet girl named Cutie who looked at her with a smile on her face.
“She was sitting there so patiently and had this little smirk on her face,” Standley told The Dodo.
The big-hearted volunteer recognized that the pup craved love, so she opened her kennel door in order to give her some cuddles.
Cutie nestled into Standley’s lap and wagged her tail. The volunteer snuggled with her and the doggo continued smiling and absorbing her affection.
Smitten with her adorable nature, Standley knew she had to tell everyone about Cutie and help her get adopted. She shared Cutie’s video on TikTok.
After posting the doggo’s video, a fellow volunteer told Standley about Cutie’s harrowing story.
The rescue crew found her while Dallas was experiencing a chilling wave. Cutie fought to survive the freezing temperatures as she tried to find refuge from the cold.
Standley was amazed by Cutie’s resilience and her trust in humans.
“[A]fter finding that out, I was like, ‘The fact that this dog still is excited to see people and has so much love to give and has a smile on her face just shows me how resilient pets are,’” Standley added.
Cutie Gets Her Happy Ending

Standley hoped that the video she shared on TikTok would help Cutie find a loving home.
She often checked her adoption profile on the shelter’s website, and a couple of days later, she noticed the shelter removed Cutie’s profile.
Standley began wondering whether Cutie was adopted. Being a shelter volunteer, she didn’t get updates about the canines she helped.
Fortunately, shortly afterward, the kind-hearted volunteer received the best possible news.
Cutie’s new parents contacted her and told her that they saw her video on TikTok. The pup’s adopters shared that the way Cutie smiled in the video reminded them of their other pup.

Cutie, who now changed her name to Frida, is doing great in her new home.
She loves curling up in warm blankets. The doggo feels safe and loved. She knows that she will never be out in the cold again.

While Cutie found her place under the sun, many shelter dogs continue desperately waiting day after day for someone to give them a second shot at happiness.
