There is nothing more depressing to see as a rescuer than a sweet dog who can’t find a home. A lot of the time, it’s for no particular reason.
Sometimes, people are not interested in adopting dogs that are older than a few months, or they dislike certain breeds because of stereotypes associated with them.
This, in turn, leads to many dogs being on their own in the shelter for longer periods of time. They become depressed, which starts showing in their behavior.
It’s also another reason why they sometimes get overlooked. It was not too different for a pup named Rosa, who had been in the shelter since she was a puppy. She hoped to find a home fast, but her life was just not going the way she expected.
Her Rescuers Are Still Hopeful
As the rescuers working for Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) in Pennsylvania were checking the kennels in the shelter, they saw something that broke their hearts.
Rosa was lying on her bed with a very sad look on her face. She looked like she had lost all hope of ever getting adopted.
They just didn’t know what to do for her. They were trying for a long time to help her find someone, but it just wasn’t working.
She had been there since she was a puppy and she was extremely patient. But, as time goes on, life in the shelter is becoming more difficult for her.
The rescue organization wrote in a facebook post: “We are the only place, and the only family, she’s ever known. She has celebrated two birthdays in our shelter, surrounded by walls that she is starting to feel will never open for her.”
They also noted that she is usually a very happy dog who enjoys running around in the fields and playing with plush toys.
She is very good around other humans and dogs. Rosa loves visiting her human friends whenever she can and it makes their day better.
She Would Be A Great Fit For Anyone
This makes it even more baffling as to how she still hasn’t found her forever home. The rescuers believe that she needs someone who is not swayed by the first impression of her.
She is the sweetest pup, but it might take a while for her to show that, especially now that she has been so long at the shelter in Pennsylvania.
They believe that she would thrive in a family that is good at caring for bigger dogs. She would also be great in a family with adults or teenagers.
It also wouldn’t be bad if she was the only dog, at least until she got adjusted to living in a home. Her rescuers are still hopeful that the day will come when she will find the perfect family.
In the meantime, they are doing the best they can to give her that chance. They keep trying to raise awareness about her situation in hopes that somebody would adopt her.
I am also hoping for the same thing. She looks like a pup who would fit perfectly into any family and she has been waiting for this chance for too long. She deserves all the best.
