When a big-hearted family came across a tall brown pup with a black muzzle roaming the streets of Camarillo, California, they offered him a helping hand and took him home.
The family cared for him and the Great Dane was extremely grateful to them. He got along with the family’s children and dogs.
Believing that the doggo had owners, the wonderful family searched for them but to no avail.
After spending a week with his finders, they surrendered him to Ventura County Animal Services, hoping that they would help him find the best possible home.
The Pup Starts His Shelter Life

Upon his arrival at the shelter, the pup made a great first impression and captured the hearts of the shelter staff.
It was clear that he was looking for affection.
“When he arrived, the staff who was the first to meet him said that he was seeking affection. He was leaning on the staff member, licking his hand — really friendly off the bat…,” Jules Hooper, marketing specialist at Ventura County Animal Services, told The Dodo.
At a weight of around 180 pounds, this Great Dane was one of the largest dogs that has ever been admitted to the Camarillo shelter.

When the dog gets up on his back legs, he is taller than most of his caregivers at the shelter.
The adorable Great Dane was named Scooby Doo due to his uncanny resemblance to the famous cartoon character.
Scooby Doo’s Wish Comes True
The lovely dog hoped with his whole heart that someone would notice him and give him the loving home he dreamed of.
Since the two-year-old dog was very energetic, he needed an active family who would devote a lot of time to him and help him work on his training.
Scooby Doo tends to pull on the leash. He sometimes pulls toward people because it is his way of asking for cuddles.
“He is strong and he does pull quite a bit on the leash… He loves people, so sometimes he’ll try to pull towards people because he’ll get pets and love,” Hooper added.
When Ventura County Animal Services shared an update about Scooby Doo on their social media, it made everyone’s day. The sweet pup found his forever family!
Scooby Doo was the happiest boy when his new mom picked him up from the shelter.

While Scooby Doo found his perfect match, more than a hundred large dogs continue waiting at the Camarillo shelter, hoping that someone would foster them or give them a forever home.
