When animal control came across a stray Pittie named Juni, they rescued her and realized that she had recently had puppies.
As much as they tried, they couldn’t find her babies, so the shelter in Houston, Texas, took the dog in.
Juni was the sweetest girl who overcame her separation from her furbabies.
After spending around forty days at the shelter, she was ready to start her life from scratch, but then, a heartbreaking thing happened.
Instead of turning over a new leaf, Juni was put on the euthanasia list due to a lack of space in the shelter.
Time was running out and she needed her hero to step in and save her.
Rescued At The Last Minute

A woman named Heather who was grieving for the loss of her beloved dog, Briley, came across Juni’s story while scrolling on social media and learned about her sad fate.
The moment she saw the doggo’s adorable face, Heather felt a unique connection to her and felt like she belonged with her and her husband.
“When I saw her face, I just knew deep in my bones that she was meant to be our family,” Heather told GeoBeats Animals.
She was desperate and wished to save her.

That night, she started calling every rescue that she knew, trying to convince them to pull Juni out of the shelter and save her life, but unfortunately, she didn’t find anyone.
Feeling heartbroken, Heather went to bed and cried herself to sleep.
When she woke up in the morning and checked her social media, she learned that Juni’s life was saved. Dawgs Fight Back, a rescue in Salem, New Hampshire, stepped in at the last moment and promised to pull Juni from the shelter.
Heather was over the moon. She talked to her husband and they decided to adopt her.
They did an adoption interview and soon signed Juni’s adoption paperwork.
Juni found her forever family before the rescue even pulled her from the shelter.
She was transported to her home in Portland, Oregon. When Juni met her parents, she was excited and nestled into Heather’s lap right away. She felt loved.
Juni’s New Life

As soon as the doggo moved in, she felt comfortable and safe as if she had always lived there. Juni loved sleeping with her parents and absorbing their love.
Her family loved watching her smile while she was sleeping.

Heather and her husband found out that upon arriving at the shelter, the staff scanned her for a microchip and found her original family.
The doggo used to have a family in her first year of life, but unfortunately, she went missing.
Her family tried to find her but it was in vain.
When Juni reappeared four years later on the streets, the staff tried contacting her original family for weeks but never received a response.
The staff wasn’t sure whether the information on Juni’s microchip wasn’t updated or the circumstances of her original family changed.
Juni brought so much love to her family and helped them overcome the sadness they felt after losing Briley.

Since Heather is disabled and has a few autoimmune diseases and a neurological disease, she sometimes has to lie in bed because she is in pain.
As soon as Juni notices that her mom isn’t feeling well, she rushes to cuddle with her and comfort her.
“… And she’s just the best nurse. She just wants to lay by me and cuddle and lick your face and make you feel better,” Heather added.

Thanks to her forever parents, Juni got a chance to experience the beauty of life. The doggo enjoys running on the beach and exploring the world around her.
From a sad dog awaiting euthanasia, Juni became the happiest doggo in the world and I couldn’t be happier for her.
