Overlooked Mama Dog Shuts Down Behind Kennel Bars After Her Puppies Find Forever Homes

Karishma’s life has been nothing but a struggle. The resilient mother dog roamed the Georgia streets with her five puppies, fighting with all her power to keep them alive.

She was worried because her furbabies had to endure the frigid temperatures outside. The mama dog tried to keep them warm and care for them the best way she could.

One day, Karishma came to a random house and asked humans for help, which proved to be a turning point in their lives.

The mama dog and her babies were admitted to a shelter.

Since the shelter was overcrowded, the staff kept the canine family at a vet’s office.

They reached out to Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, located in Bradenton, Florida, and asked for help.

A Sweet Life In A Foster Home

Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue took them under their care and placed them in a foster home.

Karishma was glad because she and her kids were finally safe and warm. She nursed them and gave them a lot of love.

Thanks to her extraordinary care and love, her babies thrived and flourished into strong and healthy pups.

Once they reached the optimal adoption age, all the puppies got adopted while Karishma stayed in the foster home.

The doggo thrived with her foster family and got along with her foster doggy sibling. She was relaxed and comfortable.

However, Karishma’s situation changed when her foster family agreed to take in another mama dog and her puppies, and Karishma had to return to the shelter.

The staff hoped that the two-year-old doggo would soon find a forever family, but for Karishma, the transition to the shelter environment was difficult.

When the sweet dog found herself behind the kennel bars without her puppies, she felt sad and scared.

Behind Kennel Bars

Karishma became timid. She refused to leave her kennel, eat, or meet new people.

The shelter’s Shy Dog team started working with her and encouraged her to come out of her shell.

Thankfully, the doggo opened up again. She started eating and going on walks.

Although Karishma started warming up to the staff again, it became clear that she didn’t do well in the shelter environment.

Her shelter friends are worried that she will be overlooked because she is shy toward new people.

The staff knows what a wonderful dog Karishma is and hopes that someone will give her a forever home. She needs a loving human who will show her the beauty of life.

“At 2 years old, this sweet girl has so much life left to live. She just needs someone to show her the world outside of the shelter,” Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.

If you’re looking for a loving furry companion, please give Karishma a chance to capture your heart. The brave doggo had a difficult life on the streets and she deserves to get her happily ever after.
