A Blind And Deaf Senior Pittie Abandoned At The Shelter Becomes A Valentine’s Gift For A New Jersey Couple

Have you ever thought about the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift? How about a dog?

While Chris and Carrie, a New Jersey couple, didn’t plan on spicing their romantic holiday with a furry surprise, things with Fetty unfolded in the blink of an eye… and he indeed became the ultimate gift!

This blind and deaf senior Pittie beat all the odds in a new home.

However, things were far from ideal when the couple stumbled upon him in the shelter.

Fetty Went Through A Rough Time

Everything started out as an abandonment nightmare. Fetty’s day began like any other, and then, in one moment, everything turned upside down.

His family decided to surrender him to Waggy Butts & Happy Mutts in New Jersey.

“Blind and deaf senior in the shelter. His owner surrendered him to the shelter… he is so confused! Need foster or adopter,” the rescue wrote in a Facebook post.

Although puzzled by the family’s decision, the rescue accepted Fetty as one of their own. He was blind. He was deaf. And, he was a senior – but they didn’t mind as long as he had someone to care for him.

At first, Fetty needed a few days to realize his old family was gone. He was confused at first, needed time to navigate the new environment, and definitely needed love.

Enter Carrie!

As soon as she spotted Fetty in the shelter where she volunteered, she fell head over heels for him. She and her husband, Chris, had some experience with caring for special-needs dogs and wanted to provide Fetty with a loving home.

On Valentine’s Day morning, the couple agreed to foster Fetty until he found one for himself. Little did they know that his perfect home was with them!

“FETTYS FREEDOM RIDE SMILE! Our awesome foster Carrie bailed this blind & deaf senior outta our local shelter into a calm, safe, loving home. We are all rooting for you Fetty,” the New Jersey shelter added in another post.

Fetty couldn’t have been happier! After a heartbreak and a few rough days in an overcrowded environment, he got the chance for a new start.

And, he took it!

He’s A Valentine Miracle

Underneath his disabilities lies a happy-go-lucky pup who appreciates every single moment in his new life. Fetty can’t see or hear, but he navigates through the house perfectly.

And, he always knows where Chris is! Somehow, Fetty learned basic commands and senses his owners’ movement, which, at moments, is truly fascinating.

For people who don’t know him, he appears to be a perfectly healthy dog as Fetty walks, runs, and plays as if he can see.

Chris and Carrie couldn’t be more thankful for deciding to make Fetty a permanent member of their family. This cute Pittie has officially become a foster fail, and from now on, his only focus is to create as many happy memories as possible.

His family, on the other hand, will do anything to make his golden days memorable.

“I’m thankful for you every day, Fetty. The shelter is no place for any dog, but especially not a blind and deaf senior. I hate that you went through what you did, but you had to go through it to find your way home,” his owner shared on Instagram.

Fetty is finally in the place he deserves. He has a nice, cozy home, owners who love him so much, and endless adventures ahead of him.

What else could he wish for?
