Rescuer From Missouri Was Shocked To Find A Pup Freezing In A Cold And Abandoned Building

Dogs are very resourceful animals and it’s a trait that a lot of humans tend to forget about. We often underestimate their intelligence.

However, when it comes to their survival, many dogs will learn how to navigate around a harsh environment and scavenge for food and water.

If they get lucky, they might even get rescued and find a new family. Even though those odds are smaller, most pups will do their best to survive and try to lead a somewhat normal life.

A good example would be this sweet dog who was living in an abandoned building. Because it was so cold, she needed shelter.

While it didn’t help him much, it was something and it alerted other people about her so a rescuer came to help her.

He Looked So Scared

When a rescuer working for Stray Rescue of St. Louis, in Missouri, came upon this sweet pup, she noticed that the pup seemed skittish, so she had to approach slowly.

The rescuer realized just how cold it was there. There was a lot of snow and the pup took refuge in the abandoned building to get a little warmth.

The kind rescuer tried to get this pup to approach her, but that didn’t exactly work out. She would get closer, and then immediately turn around.

If the woman tried to get closer to the pup, she would bark, so the rescuer had to take it even slower. The woman tried talking to the dog to show that she was not a threat.

This somewhat soothed her and she finally got closer to her rescuer. She noticed that the pup was shivering the whole time. Who knows how long she was stuck there?

When the rescuer realized that the pup was not going to just go with her to the car, she got some help. Two police officers who were patrolling the area decided to help her place a trap.

With their help, they placed a humane trap for her, and because the pup was really hungry, she went for it in no time.

She was finally able to secure her. Right after that, the woman wasted no time. She thanked the officers who helped and immediately took her back to the shelter in Missouri.

After examining her closely, they found out that her feet had been bleeding from the cold. There was also evidence of that in the snow back at the building.

Now that she was secured, the rescuers immediately noticed a shift in her mood. She started kissing everyone and she just looked so happy.

The pup, now named Dippin Dottie, wasn’t struggling from any serious illness, so it looked like she was going to be okay.

Her rescuers will do their best to find this sweet pup the wonderful family she deserves and I have no doubt that it’s going to happen very soon.
