All puppies should enjoy their puppyhood in a great home with owners who dote on them and shower them with love.
Sadly, cold-hearted owners mistreat their puppies, denying them the right to live a happy life.
Chance was one of the countless pups whose life was nothing but a nightmare.
Instead of making him the happiest dog on Earth, his family abused him and made him extremely unhappy.
After Chance got sick and his head became swollen due to an untreated abscess, his owners dumped him at the California ER and never looked back.
Sad and lonely, Chance curled up in a kennel at the hospital, trying to find a reason to keep on fighting.
Chance Finds Hope
After the vet examined him and gave him immediate medical attention, they contacted The Animal Pad, a rescue organization located in San Diego, California.
Upon receiving the call, Lauren Botticelli, the director of the rescue, headed straight to the vet to meet Chance.
Once she arrived and saw him for the first time, her heart shattered into pieces. He was sorrowful and heartbreakingly skinny.
When Botticelli tried to pet him, Chance refused to look her in the eyes.
Every time someone tried to pet him, the doggo would become so frightened that he would pee on himself. Having seen that, the heartbroken rescuer realized that the sweet pup was most likely abused in his previous home.
As Botticelli talked to him, trying to comfort him, Chance rested his head on his front paws and stared at the wall.
The kind rescuer could tell that he was a gentle soul that needed love and care more than ever before.
After the dog underwent the necessary tests and was cleared for surgery, he was transferred to another California hospital where his abscess was drained.
Without the swelling on his face, Chance looked like a totally different dog.
Love Heals All Wounds
As soon as he was discharged from the hospital, Botticelli brought him home to foster him and nurse him back to health.
Since he was mistreated in the past, Chance needed time and a lot of love in order to heal his emotional wounds.
Boticelli cheered him on and gave him endless cuddles.
As time went by, Chance began leaving his difficult past behind and focusing on his future. He started wagging his tail and smiling more and more.
His rescuer’s love mended his broken heart and Chance finally became the dog that he was always supposed to be.
He played with his doggy friends and ran in the yard with a big smile on his face.
Chance often covered his foster mom with kisses and she was smitten with his affectionate personality.
The only thing that Chance needs to be completely happy is a loving home. He hopes to find humans who will love him forever and who will never betray him.
I hope that the lovely pup will soon receive the news that he is eagerly expecting. He deserves to find happiness.
