No matter how neglectful and poorly thought out it may appear at times, dog owners sometimes have no choice but to resort to abandonment.
For reasons none of us can explain, these four-legged furballs end up losing their beloved home (and hoomans) in the blink of an eye, often through no fault of their own or their owners’ fault.
Armando, a four-year-old Husky mix, is one of those dogs. Just when he thought life couldn’t be more perfect, this sweet pup faced a tragic farewell from his family. Luckily, it all happened near a local shelter…
Mando’s Owners Had No Other Choice
The staff at the Arizona Humane Society heard helpless cries coming from the nearby parking lot and immediately rushed into action. As they approached the location, they noticed Armando tied up and abandoned by his previous owners.
Just when they thought Armando’s abandonment was another case of neglect and poor choices, the staff noticed something that broke their hearts even more! Right next to Armando was a piece of paper – with a note on it.
“Meet Armando. He was abandoned in our parking lot with a heart-wrenching note from his owner,” Arizona Humane wrote on Facebook.
Reading the note, the Arizona volunteers realized how much Armando was loved by his family. Sadly, due to unforeseen circumstances, he had to be given away as his owners had no other choice.
“It is with heavy heart that we had to result to this, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had no choice. This is Armando (Mando),” the first part of the note read.
The fact that his family had to give up Mando was more than heartbreaking.
Even though they didn’t specify the real reason, the shelter staff were absolutely sure that this Lab Husky was truly loved, given his sharp look and great manners. Armando was in excellent condition and had no behavioral issues whatsoever.
The second part of the note explained that he was a four-year-old dog with a friendly attitude toward other canines and people. Still, Armando needed some time to overcome the shock of abandonment himself…
A Sweet Boi Getting A Second Chance
Thanks to the unwavering support from his caregivers, Mando was met with nothing but love and friendship in the AHS facility. Slowly but steadily, his true colors emerged again, and pretty soon, this sweet boy showed everyone just how amazing he was.
Armando’s personality captivated every single person in the shelter, along with his eagerness to be the center of attention at all times.
Ultimately, he overcame the loss of his home and began to embrace his new community, which could only result in one thing – his adoption!
At the end of 2024, the Arizona Humane Society confirmed on Facebook that Armando had found a wonderful family and was now chasing new adventures in his new home. After everything he had been through, he definitely could not be happier!
