Animal cruelty goes above and beyond, and it just breaks my heart. The thing that saddens me the most is that despite the efforts of kind-hearted rescuers, a large number of these four-legged creatures remain without help.
Sadly, their compassionate work doesn’t reach all the canines and felines in need. The number is simply too large, and some cases are so hidden that timely intervention seems impossible.
This little Pug family was nearly in that situation, too. Severely neglected, the mama and her five babies were facing a fatal outcome until California rescuers learned their story – and rushed into action!
They Were All In Bad Condition
Suzette Hall, a long-time rescuer from Irvine, California, and the founder of an organization called Logan’s Legacy has helped many pups in need. So, when she heard about the Pug mom and her teeny-tiny puppies in need, she didn’t think twice.
She and her team immediately arrived at the location and scooped up the little furballs, hoping for the best.
Unfortunately, their situation was far from ideal. All the dogs had been severely neglected in the past. They were fed cat food, lacked proper meals, and their health was seriously compromised.
Instead of wagging tails and captivating smiles, Hall was met with a bunch of heartbroken eyes searching for a place to hide.
That’s why, after a successful rescue, Suzette immediately subjected the Pug family to the vet. Upon further inspection, all the pups were diagnosed with upper respiratory infections and required 24/7 care for the following weeks.
“They do have upper respiratory infections. Poor little family…We found out they were all being fed cat food. They will be staying at the vet until they are medically cleared,” Hall added in another post.
Knowing how difficult it would be to find this poor family a foster home, Hall searched high and low for the best solution.
Then, a hooman-shaped miracle happened!
The Sweetest Update
In just a few short weeks, the entire family felt so much better. To make things even better, they found the perfect foster home!
The vet technicians working on their case decided to welcome them into their home on a temporary basis and it couldn’t have been a sweeter match!
“They are all better and actually being fostered by a vet tech. Look how cute they are,” Hall stated in an update post.
When the time is right, both Mama and her babies will be available for adoption through the California rescue, Promise 4 Paws.
“This little family will be available for adoption through Promise 4 Paws in about 4 weeks. Mama Porscha, River, Everley, Carlee, Blaze, and Banks (puppies),” Hall concluded.
For now, the pups will enjoy the coziness of a warm home and love from their dear hoomans. After all the neglect they have endured in the past, they surely deserve to learn the true meaning of love!
