We are already used to seeing various heartbreaking situations in which dogs find themselves on the harsh streets where they are left to fend for themselves.
Unfortunately, every time, we are unpleasantly surprised by a new horrible case that is usually the result of human heartlessness and even malice.
It was the same this time when a man saw something by the side of a road in Iowa that totally shocked him, so much so that he could not believe his eyes.
When he saw what it was, his heart broke.
He Couldn’t Even Walk
According to a Facebook post written by the Des Moines Police Department, the man came upon a plastic trash bag on the side of a road in Des Moines, Iowa, and then saw that it was slightly moving.
That attracted his attention so he came closer to see what it was all about and was shocked when he saw a Bulldog’s head peeking out of the bag. The rest of his body was totally trapped in a trash bag as it was closed with tape, making it impossible for him to walk.
This great man did not wait a minute but immediately went to help the poor canine.
“At approximately 4:30 PM on December 10th, a dog was delivered to the City Of Des Moines Animal Services facility, 1441 Harriett Street, after being found abandoned alongside the SE 14th Street railroad viaduct.” Des Moines Police wrote in the post.
According to them, the dog was not in good condition when he came to the shelter as he weighed only 23 pounds. However, this did not discourage the veterinary team and they immediately started doing everything to help him recover.
Hopefully, Justice Will Be Served
In his interview for The Associated Press, Segregant Paul Parizek said that the Bulldog was slowly recovering thanks to the determination of the great veterinary team.
That was the good news, but the bad news was that they still hadn’t found the person who trapped this dog in the plastic trash bag and abandoned him on the side of the road.
However, they did find something that could eventually help them solve this case and bring the person who did this to justice. “One notable feature of the dog is that its ears have been cropped, suggesting possible prior veterinary care.” they wrote in the post.
They also asked good people to help them so that justice would be served and that the dog would meet his happy ending as soon as possible.
“If you recognize this dog, please contact the Des Moines Police Department,” they wrote, providing all the necessary information in the post itself.
We can only keep our fingers crossed that they will be successful in their mission, but most importantly, that this Bulldog will recover as soon as possible and meet his happy ending.
