It is not hard to fall in love with dogs and that is the reason why so many people have them as their family members.
However, not everyone can afford to have a dog. Those people compensate for that through volunteering in various rescue organizations and shelters.
One woman from Cincinnati, Ohio did just that. Since she is a big dog lover but doesn’t have a dog at home, she decided to volunteer at her local shelter and regularly take the dogs on day trips.
All the dogs would return to their kennel at the end of the day, except for one Bully mix.
Love At First Paw
Julia Zupan lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has always enjoyed a canine’s company, but never before had one at home.
That is why she decided to devote her free time to these furry creatures by volunteering at her local shelter, Cincinnati Animal Care.
She really enjoyed it as she was regularly taking the shelter dogs on a day trip. Aside from her spending quality time with the dogs, this hugely benefited the canines as they had a chance to decompress, sleep, and play.
She also always took photos of them and published them on social media, which increased their chances of being adopted. The most difficult moment for Julia was when she had to escort each dog back to the kennel at the end of the day, but that’s how things worked.
However, she couldn’t have dreamed that one day, that would change when she met a Bully mix named Margot and took her on a day trip.
They were supposed to go to her house and then tour Cincinnati, but in the middle of the day, something happened that completely changed their plans.
In just an hour, Margot bonded with Julia so much that she laid down on her whole body and snuggled for a long nap.
It was one of the most beautiful moments for Julia, the special moment in which she realized how much she actually liked this dog’s personality. It was love at first sight.
Although, until then, she had not thought about adopting a dog, for her, there was no more doubt about it — she had a new family member!
Meant For Each Other
Julia didn’t know much about Margot’s past aside from being found in a parking lot and that she was very kind to the woman who found her.
She also knew that Margot was a reactive dog, i.e., she had very strong emotions when on a leash, which was perhaps the reason why she had been so misunderstood and had to spend so much time suffering in the shelter.
However, all that changed in one day when she met her soulmate, Julia. Their bond was strong from the first day and remained so in all the following days that these two spent together.
Julia enjoyed canine company even more, and as for Margot, it would be an understatement to say that she just enjoyed it. In fact, she was living her very best life.
It is worth emphasizing that Margot also became a kind of TikTok star in the meantime as Julia regularly posted videos with her, many of which went viral.
These videos not only celebrated the love between a dog and its owner, but they also broke all stereotypes about so-called “unadoptable dogs.”
Margot is a living example that all dogs are worthy of love and that they just need to be given a chance to show it.
