Winter is a magical time of year. Snow falls, decorations add that charming, movie-like spark to the city, and people rush to shops for hot chocolate. How beautiful!
Sadly, our four-legged friends, especially the strays, can’t appreciate the chilliness as we do. This is largely because the cold doesn’t do any good for them, especially if they lack adequate shelter (and we just know they do).
That’s why we can often find many dogs stranded in our yards, hidden beneath our vehicles, in crawlspaces, garages, or on our porches – just like this little cutie.
She Was Literally Freezing
The Stray Rescue of St. Louis team in Missouri received a heartbreaking call the other day. A kind passerby witnessed a distressing scene: a shivering dog curled up on a random porch, all alone with no one to help. They immediately dialed the rescue’s number.
Donna Lochmann, one of the leading life-saving officers, and her team immediately sprang into action.
It didn’t take long for them to stumble upon a sweet face with the cutest ears ever – curled up in a ball of fur.
The dog was naturally sweet and didn’t even budge when Donna approached her. It was as if she knew all along that everything would work out.
This sweetie pie was evidently freezing and in need of warm shelter. Although her situation was as vague as it could be, the Missouri team of rescuers didn’t waste time pondering her potential abandoners.
Instead, they focused their attention on saving the dog.
You Matter And Deserve A Family
It took only moments for this sweet pup to steal the hearts of everyone at the rescue. She was truly a lover – and enjoyed soft and comfy things, which is why she was named Comfy Cozy.
“Comfy Cozy – the white pup with crazy cute ears, found on a front porch shivering. A lover of soft and comfy things, looking for a quiet home to rest,” SRSL wrote on Facebook.
After being successfully loaded into the car and rescued from that freezing porch, Comfy Cozy’s next step was finding a suitable foster home. Yes, things were moving that fast! Just recently, this furball was all confused by all the kindness she was showered with at the facility.
She definitely had no idea people could be this caring and gentle!
“She had NO IDEA a helping hand would come for her, she was so confused. ‘Wait, you’re here for….me?’ Yes, we are here for you! You matter, you are beautiful, you deserve a family and a couch and toys and treats and a Christmas sweater,” the rescue added.
Now, Comfy Cozy is getting ready to color someone’s life with her sweetest smile and nicest personality.
She’s a companion everyone would get along with and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Plus, all she asks in return is a comfy spot to rest and that’s about it!
