When it comes to dog rescue stories, you are going to see a lot of things. Sometimes, the rescues are simple and the pups manage to recover and find a home quickly.
Other times, they are more distressing and serious. These rescues are often very heartbreaking, but there is usually a happy ending to them.
It’s a simple fact that many dogs will go through horrible things before they get a chance to find a bright new future.
This poor pup spent most of his life in a small cage, which led to an unusual deformity on his legs. When the rescuers were first made aware of this, they were completely horrified so they tried to help.
Is There Hope For This Pup?
When the rescuers first came to see this pup, they were met with shock. Not only was he stuck in a small cage all the time, but his owner almost never fed him.
She practically tortured him for a year and a half and I just can’t imagine what this poor pup had to go through because of that.
Fortunately for him, his owner was gone and the pup was left abandoned, but this was good news because now, it meant that he could finally get the help that he deserved.
His rescuers quickly got him off his leash and took him to a clinic. They became even more horrified when they realized just how emaciated he was.
The veterinarians took him in and started immediate treatment. The whole time he was there with them, the pup just looked at them calmly. It was like he believed that they would help.
They realized that he would need surgery in order to castrate him, so his surgeon started preparing a plan on how to help him out. This was necessary because he was running the risk of a serious infection.
After a CT scan, they came to the realization that his organs were also deformed because of his legs, and this was a problem.
His stool can’t go through, so he’s often in discomfort. The rescuers made sure that he’d only eat soft food until they could figure out how to help.
He Is Making An Amazing Recovery
After they devised a plan on how to perform the surgery, his rescuers took him to a foster home where he would wait and rest in the meantime.
When the time finally came, the surgery went really well. He was on a slow journey to recovery. Despite his deformities, he can still move around somewhat normally.
With the risks of infections now gone, the rescuers did their best to help him overcome his other problems. They placed him on a good diet that will help him gain weight.
After that, he changed significantly. It was so wholesome to see the progress he has made. He was just such a strong pup and he deserved this opportunity.
Even though his legs will stay somewhat deformed, the change in diet and the surgery had a positive effect on him. His walk hasn’t changed much, but at least he is able to move around better now.
He also struggled with some gastrointestinal issues, but those resolved themselves with treatment, and this brave dog is now almost completely healthy.
And, we all know what that means. His rescuers have started searching for a forever home for him. They thought that it might be difficult for him to find someone because of his deformities, but that’s not what happened.
He found a loving mom who promised to cherish every moment with this sweet pooch. She will give him the life that he has always deserved and his rescuers couldn’t be happier for him.
