Determined Owner Carries Mama Pitbull To Bed Every Night After She Gave Birth To Huge Litter

A little help never hurt anyone. I mean, let’s face it…sometimes we all need a little push.

Cholula, a proud dog mama to eight wonderful Pittie babies, definitely needed someone to assist her with all the hard work of nursing. After she gave birth in a local shelter in California, her body was utterly exhausted, yet she never stopped being a good momma!

Thankfully, Cholula found the perfect couple who welcomed her and her litter at just the right time!

They say love makes you do crazy things! And, that’s exactly what Thomas and Alicia, the couple from Los Angeles, California, did for Cholula!

Well aware that welcoming nine new dogs into their home would mean many sleepless nights and nonstop care, these giant-hearted fosters took the plunge anyway.

“Love makes you do insane things. Please welcome mama Cholula, and babies Tapatia, Chili, Chipotle, Tabasco, Siracha, Valentina, Texas Pete, and Louisiana Crystal,” Thomas wrote on Instagram.

In collaboration with Wallis Annenberg PetSpace, they brought Cholula and her babies into the house, beginning an exciting adventure together.

The first thing Thomas did was turn his office into a nursery. He and Alicia wanted to ensure Cholula had all the comfort she needed while caring for her babies, and this way, she got plenty of space.

She was a genuinely sweet dog who let the couple care for her and the babies without protest. After all, she was extremely exhausted!

At times, Thomas even had to carry her to bed as she didn’t have the strength to move from all the nursing.

But, both Alicia and Thomas definitely enjoyed every step of the way!

They carefully oversaw the entire process, making sure that all of her pups were thriving. And, after only five weeks of nursing – it was safe to say that every single one of them had grown into a healthy pup, ready to take the next step.

The pups opened their eyes, started to crawl, and began to eat solid food, which ultimately transformed Cholula into a brand-new dog.

She began to spend a lot more time with Thom and Alicia, as well as their dog, Ruby.

Knowing that her pups were finally weaned, Cholula couldn’t hide her relief. She was such a good momma ready to embark on new adventures. And, she was definitely ready to be their companion now, too!

Off To A New Chapter

The last part of Cholula’s stay in a foster home was beyond wonderful.

She was constantly out in the yard, playing with Ruby and her eight babies. No more exhausted as she was in the beginning, Cholula truly soaked up all the beauty as much as she could.

But, in the end, that only meant one thing.

Alicia and Thomas had to say their final goodbye to her and the pups.

Needless to say, that was the hardest thing to do! Cholula was perfect in many ways and knowing that she wouldn’t be around soon, wagging her tail and showering everyone with the biggest smile, was just devastating.

“She is perfect. And yes my heart is breaking but it will mend. And there will be another mama and puppies that we can help. And the cycle won’t break,” Thomas wrote on Instagram.

She returned to Wallis Annenberg PetSpace, awaiting new opportunities and hoping for the best news.

Luckily, she didn’t have to wait long!

Cholula, alongside other rescue pups, soon found the perfect home with an amazing couple who gave her everything she had ever dreamed of.

“Happy tails to our beautiful girls Piggy, Cholula, Jasmine and so many others who have waited patiently for their perfect forever home,” Wallis Annenberg PetSpace wrote on Facebook.

She’s finally able to learn what it’s like to be the only dog in the family and receive all the love in the world. After being such a good mama, she definitely deserves it!
