Ten-year-old Pit Bull mix, Norberta, isn’t your average pup.
She spent a huge portion of her life living in a Las Vegas shelter, suffering from an ulcer in her eye as well as a cranial crucial ligament (CCL) rupture in her knee.
Such injuries are enough to put a pup on a euthanasia list.
Luckily, she was taken in by Best Friends Animal Society, Utah, who did everything to ensure that she would become a happy and healthy pup once more. Ever since, she called the Utah shelter her home.
Looking For A Family
Since she became a happy and healthy girl, Norberta has been looking for a forever home.
She is extremely adventurous and absolutely adores spending time with people. But, even with her incredible charm, she couldn’t attract any potential adopters.
But, this doesn’t bring her hoomans down. They stop at nothing to make sure that everybody knows just how adorable this girl is.
“We removed her left eye due to a medical condition, but she doesn’t let it get her down, and we think she looks even cuter! Norberta would do best as the only dog in the home, but she will make up for that with her adorable smile and winsome personality,” the shelter wrote.
Unfortunately, not every pet is as fortunate as Norberta.
Because of overcrowding across the U.S., a stray pup is euthanized every 90 seconds. So, many organizations and kind-hearted people do everything they can to help them, but they can only do so much.
Luckily, the shelter found a way to get potential adopters to come, meet, and adopt their adorable furry friends.
And, trust me… it’s absolutely incredible.
Chewy Claus
Chewy is a company that takes care of our furry friends in the best way possible.
In 2022, they came up with the Chewy Claus program, which focuses on making the wishes of our pets come true.
Until December 20, animals can submit letters to Chewy requesting whatever their little hearts desire. Then, the company does their very best to fulfill as many wishes as possible. Additionally, for every letter they receive, they will donate a pound of pet food to one of their nonprofit partners.
“When we received thousands of letters from pets asking for homes, we knew we had to help. There’s no better way to celebrate the season than by uniting pets with loving families – whether they’re first-time pet parents or welcoming a furry friend back home,” said Orlena Yeung, Chief Brand Officer at Chewy.
The best part is that you can also do something as incredible as this!
Just head down to your local animal shelter, pick any furry friend you want, and make their entire lives, not just holidays, incredible.
Not only will you bring a smile to their faces, but you will also have a friend for life. Who doesn’t want that?!
