I have always said that one of the noblest things any person can do is adopt a dog in need.
Giving them a new life would make it so much better and our own lives would also change dramatically as a result.
However, not everyone who adopts puppies sees it that way. For some people, they serve only as guard dogs and nothing else. The owners tend to ignore them all the time.
In some cases, they barely even feed the dogs, which starts to cause all sorts of health problems for them. I just don’t understand why someone would adopt a pup only to do this.
It wasn’t much different for the dog we will be talking about. It was only thanks to this 5-year-old boy that this sweet pup was given any food at all.
A Kind Gesture
When rescuers were informed about a neglected dog in the suburbs of Arizona, rescuer Koco Garcia, from Handover Rover, decided to intervene.
She looked for the place where the dog lived and was surprised by what she found when she finally got there. A kind 5-year-old boy was feeding the dog.
Garcia asked him about the dog and his owner. The boy told her that he feeds him because his owner doesn’t really want to.
This was heartbreaking to hear, but at the same time, it was nice to see such a sweet gesture from this boy who might have saved this dog’s life.
When she finally got all the confirmation she needed, she went to talk to the owner and asked him if she could take him. He agreed as it was obvious that he didn’t want the dog.
So, Garcia went into the yard to try and save him. She noticed that the only water this dog had was an A/C runoff, which was extremely sad to see.
Considering the weather in Arizona, these were such horrible conditions for the dog to be in. Nevertheless, all of that was about to change.
A Big Change For The Dog
She tried to get close to the dog. He seemed friendly at first but then backed off. Garcia tried to place a leash on him, but he would start barking when she did that.
He would then move away and try to keep his distance. It took a while for her to calm him down long enough to try again. However, on the second attempt, she was successful.
The pup tried to break away from the leash, but Garcia was able to calm him down. She gave him some water and it worked. Who knows when the last time he drank clean water was?
She then took him back to her home in Arizona where she fostered him until he found his forever home.
At first, the pup was reluctant to leave his crate, but with time and care, that would change quickly. Garcia loved the pup and he just couldn’t help but relax in her presence.
He made new friends in the house and it looked like he was finally happy to be accepted by someone who wanted him.
Soon enough, Garcia found a new family for the dog and that’s when he became completely unrecognizable.
He practically ran into his new mom’s arms and the two have been inseparable since. It’s comforting to know that this pup got his happy ending, and that’s thanks to Garcia and the kind 5-year-old boy who fed him when he needed it the most.
