Every homeless dog dreams of finding a wonderful family and a home where they can finally live in peace.
Sadly, countless strays find it difficult to make that dream come true.
A sad-looking Pomeranian, later named Marshmallow, stopped believing in happy endings and focused on just surviving the streets.
Not knowing where to go, the doggo wandered onto the railway tracks in Los Angeles, California.
Unaware of the danger, the fluffy stray decided to stay there and the train tracks became his home.
Will anyone come to his rescue and bring him to safety?
Rescue Mission On Train Tracks
When a dog lover and volunteer rescuer called Rosario Ortiz came across Marshmallow, her heart broke.
The sweet pup was sleeping under an industrial storage container.
Ortiz contacted Suzette Hall, a long-time rescuer and the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, a rescue in Irvine, California, and asked her to help her.
Hall dashed to the site. When she reached the location an hour later, Marshmallow was still asleep.
After she set a trap with yummy treats, Hall hid in the distance so that the dog wouldn’t get spooked.
As soon as Marshmallow woke up, he smelled the delicious food and made his way toward the trap.
Just when he was about to enter the trap, a lady scared him and spoiled the plan.
The doggo started running along the train tracks.
Hall and Ortiz were terrified that something might happen to him. Without wasting any time, they hopped into their cars and started following Marshmallow.
The Scared Pup Finally Feels Secure
Shortly afterward, Hall and Ortiz surrounded the pup in a fenced-off area.
Once they set up baby gates and blocked the only way out, the rescuers drew nearer to the dog until they were close enough to grab him.
When Ortiz secured him in her arms, both rescuers were overjoyed.
At first, Marshmallow was a little bit confused.
After Hall comforted him and loaded him into her car, the doggo felt a sense of relief. He realized that he was safe.
“The best part was [when] he knew he was safe, he could hardly keep his eyes open and laid all the way to [in the] back of the trap. He didn’t have to live on the railroad tracks or sleep hiding under that trailer ever again. He was rescued,” Hall wrote on Facebook.
The kind-hearted rescuer drove him to Camino Pet Hospital, where the vet staff gave him a medical checkup and a relaxing bath.
Fortunately, Marshmallow was in excellent health and he soon moved to a foster home.
His foster family gave him time to decompress. The pup felt content because he finally had a comfy home and amazing humans to take care of him.
It didn’t take long for Marshmallow to reveal his personality. He turned out to be a true love bug.
“Marshmallow is the biggest cuddle bug ever. He is beyond happy to be saved. He just cuddles into your arms,” Hall told The Dodo.
We all hope that the sweet pup will soon get his happily ever after.
