Woman Received A Worrisome Call About The Gray Lump Stumbling Through Parking Lot

It is not every day that you see a gray lump stumbling around by the seaport in New York. Yet, that was exactly what some passers-by witnessed one day.

When they took a closer look, they noticed that it was a poor, injured animal. They wanted to help, but because they didn’t know what to do, these people decided to call a professional instead.

As soon as the Long Island animal rescuer, Karenlynn Stracher, received the worrisome call about the animal in need, she hopped in her car and rushed to that place.

A Worrying Injury

When Karenlynn finally arrived at the seaside lot, she immediately went to work. As soon as she saw a gray feathered animal that was wandering through the parking lot, she knew it was a type of seabird known as seagull or simply a gull

However, for this big-hearted rescuer, the more important thing was the fact that the poor bird was injured, i.e., he had a broken wing. An experienced rescuer like Karenlynn knew that an injury like this was everything but good news.

Yet, when she was able to get a little closer to the injured animal, she saw a miracle. The bird seemed to be moving both of his wings, which isn’t something usual when it comes to this kind of injury.

However, she could not know anything for sure until the bird was caught in the net and thoroughly examined because you can not see the real degree of an injury unless you feel it with your own hands.

That’s why this experienced rescuer immediately grabbed her net and went into action.

Baby Is In Safe Hands

Although Stracher has been in many similar situations, it still took her some time to catch this bird in the net. Eventually, she was successful.

When she was finally able to examine him better, Karenlynn was heartbroken to realize that this seagull was very young, probably born during the previous spring.

“Another baby,” Karenlynn said in a TikTok video featuring the rescue. “I hate when this happens to the babies.”

On the bright side, his injury wasn’t nearly as serious as she thought, and what was most important, he was finally in safe hands.

Soon after she caught him, Karenlynn got in touch with her friends at Sweetbriar Nature Canter, in Smithtown, New York, who agreed to continue taking care of this injured animal.

Hopefully, with the help of good souls, this seagull will soon recover and once again spread his wings and fly over the beautiful blue sea where he belongs.
