How often do you see a dog – talking?
And I’m not even referring to all those AI trends or TV shows!
A real. Dog. Talking!
To be completely honest, I don’t recall any since Mishka, the talking Husky, who became famous for her adorable “I Love You!” sentence.
But Mimosa here seems to have a much broader vocabulary! He dazzles his momma by literally copying everything she says, which has earned him the title of “Talking Dog!”
Wait, He Talks? Really?
You read that right.
When Nhamo, a Florida artist currently based in Dallas, Texas, first met Mimosa, she could never have imagined that he would change her world entirely.
Before she discovered his “hidden talent,” she was simply happy to give him a permanent home and the love he lacked in life.
Mimosa had been returned to a shelter several times and was repeatedly labeled “problematic” and unadoptable, until Nhamo decided to give him a chance.
When she finally got to really know him, his new momma realized he was an amazing pet! Aside from being handsy and wanting things his own way from time to time, there was nothing about him that was unadoptable.
Plus, he started to really TALK to her.
Nhamo realized that Mimosa loved being the center of attention – mimicking her actual words. Whenever he wants to go outside or eat, he does his best to use “human words” to express himself.
“He likes to try to copy people’s words, so he’ll watch your mouth and try his best to do the same thing. If he wants to go outside, he’ll say: ‘Run!’ If he wants food, he’ll say: ‘Tap!’ and he’ll hit my leg. He realized everybody gives him more attention because he talks,” Nhamo told Cuddle Buddies.
Needless to say, his remarkable talent soon went viral!
Mimosa Is One Of A Kind
Today, Mimosa is known as the Talking Dog. He loves using his “half-dog, half-human” language to interact with people – and he does it so smoothly.
Mimosa loves spending time in his mom’s lap, just casually “chatting” with her. Sometimes, he even engages in arguments, unaware of how much his mumbling actually resembles real human speech.
And it’s hilarious!
In the videos Nhamo posts daily on her Instagram and TikTok, Mimosa continues to leave people in awe with his one-of-a-kind ability.
His sassiness and genius is truly beloved by thousands, and it seems he doesn’t intend to stop anytime soon!
Other than that, this sweet rescue pup makes the perfect companion for his mom. Having him by her side means the world to Nhamo, and now she can’t imagine her life without him.
“I got Mimosa during a very dark time in my life and I never knew that he would be this important to me,” Nhamo says.
