After receiving a distress call about a small puppy roaming around a trash dump, a group of rescuers grabbed their supplies and immediately made their way to the doggo.
The first thing the rescuers noticed when they arrived was how cold it was outside. Even though they were wearing warm clothing, they were absolutely freezing. They could only imagine how bad it was for the sweet pup!
After spending some time looking around, they were finally able to spot her in a pile of trash, looking for something to fill up her hungry belly.
You Are Safe Now Sweet Girl
Fortunately for the rescuers, the adorable doggo wasn’t too spooked by the humans, so catching her wasn’t difficult at all. She also had red, swollen paws, making it hard for her to move.
As the hoomans picked her up, they noticed that the pup couldn’t stop shaking. They knew that she was super cold so they rushed her back to the car, where they wrapped her in a cozy blanket. As the dog got warmer, she was finally able to decompress and relax for a bit.
Thinking that there could be some furry siblings running around this dump as well, the humans decided to investigate a bit. However, after not finding anybody else, they decided to call it a day and take this sweet girl to the vet’s office.
A Fresh Start
The second they got her in their care, the vets took her to the emergency room so that they could perform all the necessary tests.
When they got the results back, they were able to determine that she was severely anemic and dehydrated. Unfortunately, she also had other health issues that demanded immediate medical attention.
The pup was given a much-needed blood transfusion. In the beginning, she struggled a bit as she had no idea what was going on, but after time went by she was able to calm down. Maybe she finally understood that there was nothing to worry about anymore.
As the days went by, the pup didn’t really show signs of improvement. She was still extremely exhausted and her paws were still swollen.
But her medical team refused to give up on her.
They showered her with love and attention whenever they could, reminding her how brave and beautiful she was. Thanks to their incredible dedication, twenty days after her rescue the pup started to get better.
The doctors later concluded that her swollen paws were most likely due to all the fleas and ticks that infested her tiny body.
But none of that mattered now. The important thing was that she was finally healthy and ready for a new life.
When she was discharged from the hospital, her rescuers named her Luna and took her to a loving shelter where she could finally be a puppy again.
She is now surrounded by incredible hoomans as well as tons of furry siblings who she loves spending time with.
I am sure that this sweet girl will find a loving forever home where she will be able to forget about her sad past and fully embrace her bright future.
I wish you all the luck, sweet Luna! You deserve the absolute world.
