Natalie Altman from Texas knew this when she decided to stop her car and give Ollie a chance.
Despite already having three dogs, she couldn’t remain indifferent to his situation. She gently scooped him up and took him home, not realizing that Ollie had never been loved.
But what came as an even bigger shock was that he had also never received a proper bath!
A Bath, A Grooming Session, And Another Bath After That
Due to his condition, Natalie initially thought that Ollie was a girl. In the TikTok video she posted in June 2024, she showcased their very first night together.
One thing was for sure: Ollie was the most matted dog Natalie had ever seen. He even had trash deeply matted into his fur, which made him look like he had been on the streets his whole life.
“She’s got so many mats. She’s definitely been on the street…or she was mistreated, and they never took care of her,” Natalie says in the video.
“She doesn’t even care about the food. I think she just wants to be taken care of,” she adds.
When Natalie decided to give him his very first bath ever, he didn’t budge at all. In fact, Ollie enjoyed every single minute of it.
At one point, he even almost fell asleep for a brief moment, showing just how cozy and safe he must’ve felt.
Then, one long bath and a grooming session later, Natalie realized – Ollie was a boy!
A very happy one!
The two spent some more time getting rid of all the ticks in his fur. Once Natalie finished treating him, she decided to surprise him with another warm bath. And he just couldn’t have been more content!
The next morning, the two visited the vet.
Ollie was prescribed medication for flea treatment and received some more proper grooming. Other than that, he had no serious issues and was good to start a new chapter.
He could never have imagined that his new life would begin in a brand new home – with the perfect owner!
Ollie Found The Perfect Human
Natalie’s mom, Tracie, opened her home and her heart to Ollie.
She couldn’t have been more excited to have a new companion – especially knowing that Ollie’s journey hadn’t been an easy one. She was ready to give Ollie everything he had been missing in life. And it is safe to say that the two bonded right away.
“He couldn’t have been a better fit for me. I think every day since then, I just fall in love with him more and more,” Tracie told The Dodo.
Months later, Ollie is the epitome of a beautifully transformed dog. He has grown new fur and looks nothing like his old self. He’s now a fashionable boy who just loves everything about his new Texas home.
Today, Ollie takes trips, visits cool places, does zoomies in his yard, and meets many friends along the way. What was once a tough life on the streets is now a life filled with exciting adventures and love.
And that’s everything he had ever hoped for!
