Buying things for your dog is definitely a task that requires more planning than you think. I was shocked when I first discovered this with my dog.
Sometimes, we can get them something that we think they would like only to realize they don’t want it at all.
While it’s true that most dogs like toys and treats, we have to also remember that they are simpler creatures, and we just have to look at them to find the answer.
Do they love biting stuff in your house? Buy them a toy. Do they enjoy catching things? Get a ball. Being mindful of these simple things can go a long way.
However, for this dog owner, things were a little different. She bought a new house and wanted to surprise her dog. It’s safe to say that it didn’t quite turn out the way she expected.
He’s Just A Big Baby
When this thoughtful dog owner decided to move into a new house, she wanted it to be a great space for her pup, Scout, to play in.
So, she naturally gravitated toward the properties that had a large yard and she actually managed to find a great one. She bought it, of course, and went to move in.
She was incredibly excited to show Scout his new yard, and when they finally got there, she was surprised by his reaction.
He just turned around to face her and stood there. This clingy pup did not really care much for the yard… he just wanted to be with his mom the whole time.
Scout was not big on running and was the kind of dog who liked taking it easy, so this yard might not work out for her.
At first, this surprised his owner a little bit, but then she realized that this was just how he is. She recorded the entire clip and posted it on Instagram.
A Wholesome Reaction
The short clip generated a lot of interest from many people who just found the situation hilarious and decided to share their thoughts.
One person commented: “I have three, they will only go and play outside when we are with them.”
Okay, so it seems that this behavior is universal for all Spaniels. It’s good to know that Scout is not the only one like this.
Another person said: “That’s so funny we have a clinger spaniel at home but once he gets the scent of something out in the wild he is off.”
Well, I assumed that they are just more laid back and like to relax most of the time. I guess I was wrong about that one.
Lastly, somebody commented: “We went on holiday In a cottage with a garden like this, he never left me throwing the ball at my feet all day long.”
That is just so adorable. Spaniels really are unique in a way and it’s sweet to know just how much time they like to spend with their owners.
As for Scout, well, I don’t think anything will change, but I can definitely see him start to play around the yard a bit more as long as his mom is with him, of course.
He is a very cheerful dog and I do not doubt that the two of them will have many amazing adventures together.
