It is no surprise to see an abandoned dog left on the street to fend for itself recently. Still, the hearts of good people and true dog lovers always break to pieces when witnessing such a situation.
It was the same this time when a woman named Stephanie Castillo came across something that made her sick to her stomach. Namely, she saw a tiny cage filled with seven dogs right outside a rescue organization in Chino Hills, California.
These poor creatures were in a bad state and Stephanie knew she had to do something immediately. Luckily, she managed to pull herself together and quickly went into action.
She Couldn’t Leave Them There
Given the fact that she didn’t have much experience when it came to situations like this, Stephanie wasn’t sure what exactly she should do. She had no idea where these dogs came from, let alone something else.
However, since they were left outside Priceless Pet Rescue, it was logical to knock on their doors for help. Unfortunately, she had no luck since they were closed that whole day. Yet, this woman knew she had to do something considering the state the dogs were in.
“It seemed like [they’d been] there for a while because they were sitting in their own filth and panting … I also noticed there was a blind senior dog that was in really bad shape,” Stephanie told The Dodo.
Because of that, she wasn’t willing to give up, so it occurred to her to call her local humane society. Just when Stephanie was convinced that she had solved the problem, an answer followed that she did not expect. They told her that they could come, but only in a few hours.
Given the state the dogs were in, she couldn’t wait that long. On the other hand, she knew she couldn’t leave them there. That’s why she decided on the only option left – to take these dogs home with her.
On The Way To Their New Beginnings
When they arrived at her house, Stephanie was over the moon to finally release these poor pups from the cage. However, it was only then that she was truly devastated when she saw the extent of the condition they were in.
“They … looked like they had been through a lot,” Stephanie said.
However, after they ate well and took a short walk, these dogs started to feel a little better. Soon, the people from the humane society came as well and transferred them to Priceless Pet Rescue in Costa Mesa, California.
Although these dogs still had a long way to go to a happy ending, Stephanie was still overjoyed that they finally got a chance for a new beginning.
The people at the rescue named these dogs Hal, Reese, Dewey, Francis, Malcolm, Lois, and Rudy. They immediately started promoting them via social media in the hope that they would quickly find their forever homes.
Four dogs did not have to wait long because they quickly became full members of their new families. There are only three left, but we believe that they, too, will soon meet their happiest endings.
Considering everything they went through, they deserve nothing less.
