This sweet pup named Cloe isn’t your average gal.
Not only was she forced to grow up on the cold and harsh streets all by herself, but she also had an issue with her back legs.
When a rescuer by the name of Eli first noticed Cloe’s legs, she thought that they were caused by a car accident.
However, this couldn’t have been further from the truth.
One Special Girl
As she was passing a busy road, Eli noticed a mangy pup wandering around and looking for something to fill her hungry belly.
Knowing that she couldn’t just leave her there, Eli remembered that she had a cage in her car. So, she stopped her car, stepped outside, and approached Cloe.
“I’ve never seen a dog with those legs ever before. She was living next to a busy road. I thought something had happened to her. I had a cage with me. Luckily, I could catch her,” Eli told The Dodo.
As soon as she had her in her car, Eli took the pup to the vet in order to determine what exactly happened to her.
Start Of Something New
After giving her a thorough medical check-up, the vets determined that Cloe’s legs were caused by a birth defect.
Wanting to know more about Cloe’s condition, Eli did some research and found out that this condition doesn’t actually affect the pup’s life too much.
“She will just need a little bit more care than other dogs, which I was more than okay with,” she added.
Unfortunately, Cloe was quite nervous around humans at first.
She refused any eye contact and just kept to herself. However, with time, she came out of her shell and embraced her new two-legged friends!
Eli was amazed by how much this pup transformed over time. Her daily exercise and good diet really made her so much stronger, allowing her to completely forget about her disability and fully embrace her new life.
And in order to celebrate this achievement, Eli decided to take her to the beach!
“If she could not overcome an obstacle, she would just wait and look at us. It was like, ‘Hey, help me’. She knows we are coming. We are there to help,” Eli said.
Cloe was truly living the best life ever. The time at the beach really reminded her how good things can get. And since it would take her even more time to open up to a new human, her rescuer knew what she had to do.
Eli adopted Cloe!
“Sometimes I feel like she doesn’t even know she is disabled. The physical progress she has made since the beginning is incredible. Some days are better than others. Some days she is quite cuddly. But I know she’s exactly where she was meant to be,” she concluded.
Seeing a stray pup find a happy and loving home fills my heart full of joy.
I am sure that this adorable girl will be able to forget all about her troubling past, fully embracing her happy, loving future.
She deserves it.
