When you go on holiday, you expect to have fun, relax, and enjoy your time.
What you don’t usually anticipate is meeting a furry friend who not only steals your heart but changes your life in ways you never imagined.
That’s exactly what happened to a woman named Jess. What started as a simple vacation turned into an incredible rescue as she found herself falling head over heels for a little pup she now could no longer imagine living without.
A Vacation Like No Other
While she was on holiday out of the country with her partner, Jess noticed a little pup hanging around the home they were staying at. She also noticed that the pup was extremely malnourished.
“She didn’t even look like a dog when I first saw her because it was quite dark. I didn’t know if she had been dumped there by someone. Nobody knew where she came from,” Jess told GeoBeats.
After giving her some sweet hugs and kisses, Jess called it a night. However, the thought of this sweet girl just couldn’t escape her mind. As soon as the sun came out, Jess ran outside to see if the pup was still there.
When she noticed that she stayed by her home the entire night, the woman knew she had to take care of this adorable girl.
Every day, she would prepare yummy meals for the pup, and she even placed a kennel outside so she would have a little safe space all for herself.
“She would just spend all the time outside the house, in the street and just hang out and was just really sociable. She loved to say hello to people and say hello to the other dogs around. It was lovely,” she added,
However, one time, Jess noticed that there were some dogs in the neighborhood that were extremely mean to the pup. It was clear to her that when she went back home, nobody would be there to protect this sweet girl.
“She was so young, and so frail and all alone. And I just knew that any bad altercation with any mother street dog, she’s not going to make it,” Jess stated.
No Pup Left Behind
As her vacation was coming to an end, Jess decided to post on her socials as well as ask some of the locals if they were interested in adopting a pup. But, as no potential adopter came along, it was clear what she had to do.
“I did feel quite maternal over her because she was just so sweet and she definitely adopted us just as much as we adopted her. I decided that I’m going to bring her home,” she said.
Naming the pup Ru, Jess packed her bags, bought a plane ticket, and the little family was on their way to start their new life.
As soon as they got home, Ru settled in immediately. It was as if she had always lived there, right by Jess’s side.
Ever since, the pup has been living a happy life full of fun, happiness, and adventure. She no longer had to spend her nights in fear as she now had her very own hooman to take care of her.A big thank you to Jess for doing something so incredible for this sweet girl.
