Woman Noticed A Stray Dog Sitting In Her Backyard So She Went To Help Him

Stray dogs live on the streets, deprived of human love and care that they need. Having a loving home is all they wish for.

Since they lack interaction with humans, the stray dogs become fearful and skittish. Although they yearn to find their humans, they don’t know how to trust them.

Roo was one of those fearful stray pups who didn’t know how to interact with people.

In March 2023, the little puppy decided to conquer his fear, and he started searching for a kind human to help him find a better life.

As he roamed around the neighborhood in Central California, he went to a family’s backyard, hoping to get the help he needed.

It was 8 p.m. and Diane Ewert, a dog lover and rescuer, was at home when she heard loud barking coming from outside. She quickly went outside to check.

Ewert was left brokenhearted when she saw a scared little puppy sitting in her backyard with a sad look in his eyes.

When she tried to come closer, the dog barked at her. She offered him food, but the pup still didn’t let her approach him. Ewert realized that she would need to use a crate to catch him.

She went inside to get the crate, and after the pooch entered it, she brought him inside.

The puppy, later named Roo, was terrified. Ewert tried to stroke him, but the doggo flinched, so she gave it up. Seeing his reaction, Ewert was sure that Roo hadn’t interacted with humans before.

In the morning, the pooch was taken to a vet’s office. The vet scanned him for a chip, but he didn’t find one.

Roo was neutered and chipped. He received his vaccines, and Ewert took him home. The little pup was still sedated, so she carried him in her arms. That was the first time she could actually touch him.

On day 3, the puppy started eating. From that day on, Ewert sat with him and hand-fed him several times. After six days passed, she gained Roo’s trust and he finally let her stroke him.

Ewert’s heart melted when she saw that the doggo trusted her and that he enjoyed her cuddles.

“I was able to pet him. I get the chills talking about it. I was able to love on him like I wanted to that first night. And then from that moment on… he just blossomed,“ Ewert said.

The pawdorable dog was no longer afraid. He gave his rescuer sweet kisses, licking her face and wagging his tail. She was the first human he trusted and loved.

Getting The Happy Ending He Craved For

Having realized that he had recovered from his trauma, Ewert announced on social media platforms that the cute dog was ready to search for his forever family.

Roo stole the hearts of his family as soon as they saw his photo online. His forever mom, Kathleen, flew in from Chicago and took him to his forever home.

Ewert knew that she would miss Roo, but she was happy that the delightful pup found a great family who adored him.

The doggo fit in with his family pretty fast. He has a furry sibling named Kibi. The two brothers get along very well, and they live their best life together.

You can follow their adventures and daily activities on their Instagram account. Roo is a true love bug and he enjoys snuggling with his family and giving them the sweetest kisses.
