Receiving an urgent request to rescue a pup battling starvation, a team of rescuers immediately dropped everything and headed down to the location.
While on their way there, they found out that the reason why this pup had gotten into this situation in the first place was because her owner passed away and nobody was able to take care of her.
The second they met the pup, the rescuers began to cry. Seeing somebody in such a hard condition can break even the coldest heart. But since they knew that they didn’t have any time to waste, the rescuers wiped their tears away and got to work!
A Much-Needed Rescue
The rescuers decided that it would be for the best if they spent some time with the dog first. This way, they could get aquainted with each other, making him feel more secure.
“This dog is so emaciated that his ribs are protruding, and we can visibly see every bone in his body,” wrote the rescuers in a video.
After they gave him some food, the rescuers rushed him to the vet, so they could do a thorough medical examination.
The results showed that she only weighed eight lbs. and that she had issues with her liver, kidney, and pancreas, along with having anemia.
Naming her Scarlet, the vets put her on all the necessary medications in order to get her feeling happy and healthy in no time.
One Day At A Time
Every single staff member at the clinic made sure that she had everything she could ever dream of. Apart from her medication and checkups, they also made sure to spend as much time with her as possible so that she wouldn’t feel lonely.
Such an incredible environment really made this sweet girl feel so much better.
After only six days at the vet, Scarlet was able to eat a whole plate of solid food. The hoomans were overjoyed at this sight as they knew that this meant that her health was improving.
But they knew she had a long way to go.
Not only did she need to put on healthy weight and deal with her diseases, but she also had to regain her trust in hoomans and find herself a forever home.
Scarlet refused to give up. As time went by, she became stronger and stronger and was able to stand up all on her own.
Seeing her determination, the hoomans were motivated more than ever to help this sweet girl.
“Scarlett is diligently cared for every day, receiving the attention and support she needs to regain her strength. Her daily routine includes regular rehabilitation exercises, and nutritious meals to help her recover and thrive,” they added.
I am sure that with time, sweet girl Scarlet will regain her health and completely transform into the happy and loving pup she once was.
