I wish all canines woke up every morning snuggling next to their humans with their eyes twinkling with joy.
Sadly, there are numerous dogs whose hearts become filled with sorrow after their families kick them out of their home.
Babs was one of the abandoned canines who felt hopeless and brokenhearted as she roamed the streets of Dayton, Texas.
The canine became distrustful of humans and tried to stay away from them. Since Babs had nobody to care for her, she developed mange.
When a kind person spotted her wandering around a snow cone stand, they called Kristen Erwin, a dog rescuer, who immediately jumped to the dog’s aid.
A Good Human Helps Babs
As soon as Erwin reached the given address, she saw Babs lying in front of someone’s porch.
She was malnourished, and her skin was sore. The canine was mostly hairless with only a few patches of fur.
After seeing the pup’s condition, the rescuer’s heart became filled with sorrow.
Erwin tried calling the pooch and encouraging her to approach her, but Babs was too scared. The hopelessness reflected on her face was heartbreaking.
The giant-hearted woman made a plan to lure the pooch into a crate.
She set a trap and left delicious treats for Babs in the crate, hoping that the pooch would soon approach it.
Babs was so hungry that she started moving toward the crate as soon as she smelled the food. The dog entered the trap and continued eating.
Once Babs saw Erwin approaching, she felt frightened, and she started circling in her crate.
The good human consoled Babs, promising her that she would help her recover.
She took the pooch to the vet where she received a complete examination. Babs was heartworm positive and she immediately began her treatment.
The Houston-based non-profit organization called ThisIsHouston stepped up and covered Babs’ medical care.
Getting A Ton Of Love
Eriwn took the pup home in order to foster her.
Having arrived at her foster home, Babs’ fears and distrust disappeared. The pooch sensed that she was in safe hands.
Babs let Erwin cuddle her, and she felt happy as she absorbed her love.
“I didn’t know what to expect once I got her home. It turned out she was one of the sweetest dogs and truly only wanted attention and love. She was very affectionate and seemed very appreciative to be off the streets and out of the Texas heat. She quickly attached herself to us,” Erwin told The Dodo.
Erwin and her family cared for Babs, gave her medicated baths, and lavished her with attention.
The pup felt content because amazing humans were by her side. She was no longer on her own, and her face was beaming with joy.
Gradually, her skin started healing and becoming smoother.
Babs’ Amazing Transformation
As Babs’ black fur grew back, she turned into a beautiful and fluffy Poodle.
Babs looked like a brand-new dog. She was bursting with confidence, and she couldn’t stop smiling.
After the pup made a full recovery, she was ready to move to her forever home.
Babs’ new family followed her story from the beginning. The canine captured their hearts, so they filled out an adoption application shortly after she was rescued.
The pooch was happy to run into her family’s arms and to move into her new home.
Babs fell in love with her new life. She enjoyed taking in all the love her family showered her with.
“She is living the good life. She has a new fur sibling that she plays with and two human siblings. … Her family adores her and can’t believe how sweet and gentle she is,” Erwin added.
I’m over the moon for Babs. The sweet dog finally has everything she wished for.
