Our furry companions can feel deeply, and we can see that through their immense love and loyalty toward their favorite humans. This is very visible in dogs that live in a warm home with a loving family.
However, it becomes even more pronounced when the dog is left without those he trusted the most. It is a sadness that is difficult to describe in words and something that brings tears to the eyes of true dog lovers.
Recently, this is what the employees and volunteers of shelters, which are fuller and fuller of surrendered dogs, have to deal with. This time, however, many other people had the chance to see one such case, and for many, it was beyond heartbreaking.
She Thought They Were Coming Back
One day, the family decided to surrender their dog to the shelter after owning her for seven years. After they closed the shelter door, the reaction of their dog touched the shelter employee so much that she decided to share this painful experience with other people.
In the TikTok video posted by @lovinpet.global, we can see a Livestock Guardian dog standing in front of the shelter door with a sad gaze directed at the employee.
“She wanted to wait by the door thinking they were coming back,” it was stated in the video. “She loved the children, after all, she is a guardian dog.”
Soon, the shelter employee approached the pooch to comfort her, knowing that “these dogs go through so much pain when they are surrendered.”
Thanks to this kind soul, the poor dog was able to calm down a bit, but sadly, that did not heal the deep wound inflicted on her by those she trusted the most. That wound will remain there forever.

This heartbreaking video attracted a lot of attention and made many hearts cry. Most people were sad because of this dog’s fate, but many of them were also angry at the owners who did this to her.

There are many reasons why people decide to surrender their dog and some of them are truly justified. However, if at all possible, it should be avoided.
It is a more acceptable option not to adopt a dog at all if you assume that you will not be able to take care of him, or else, if you already have to leave him, it is better to be patient and find him a foster home, or if you are lucky, a forever one.
It is better to make a little sacrifice for them than to break their heart. The sad face of this Livestock Guardian dog is the best proof of that.
